What It Does
MathNava is building an AI tutor that behaves like a video call rather than a chat box. The student talks to a tutor persona named Maya on a live call, shares their screen or a photo of a worksheet, and gets walked through each step instead of being handed the answer. The advertised range is grade 6 to 12, across math from pre-algebra to calculus, English, science, general knowledge and vocabulary.
Around the call sit the pieces a parent needs: a homework solver that reads a photo of a worksheet, practice tests that adapt and grade with explanations, printable smart worksheets, topic-level progress reports and a parents' view showing what the child learned, struggled with and should try next. A separate voice mode is framed as a low-pressure space for exam stress and motivation, and test prep is listed for SAT, GMAT, GRE, AP, IB and subject olympiads including AMC and USAPhO.
The product is pre-launch. The site collects a waitlist — it reports 2,800+ parents joined — with beta invites sent in waves, oldest first, and the first 30 days of beta free with no card. The privacy policy is candid that it currently covers only the waitlist: it states that the tutoring product's accounts, homework uploads, voice recordings, chat transcripts, progress data and payments are not yet covered.

Privacy and Data Handling
Operated by Mathnava Corp., a Delaware corporation in Redmond, WA. The policy covers only the waitlist at present and says so: it states that account passwords, student names or grades, homework uploads, audio and video recordings, chat transcripts, progress data and payment details are not collected during the waitlist, IP addresses are stored hashed, and waitlist data is not used to train AI models.
Strengths and Limitations
Strengths
Seeing the student's actual work on a call is a more natural tutoring loop than typing into a chat, and the waitlist policy is unusually explicit about what it does not yet cover.
Limitations
Nothing is generally available yet, pricing after the beta is unknown, the tutoring product itself has no published privacy policy, and the site still uses a default Vite favicon.
