What It Does

AppCited measures something narrower than the usual "AI visibility" tools: not a website score, but how often AI assistants actually name your app. It asks ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude 45 times each per week, when someone asks which app to download, and reports how many of those answers named yours — plus the likely range, so a small count is not over-read. The four engine counts are kept separate rather than blended into one number. Every Monday you get one card rather than a dashboard: who got named instead, what the engines read, and the three listing changes most likely to move the count. Beta opens November 5, 2026 through a waitlist, and a free report card is offered to the first 50 apps with no card and no account.

Key Features

  • 45 asks per engine, weekly, across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude
  • Four separate engine counts instead of one blended score
  • Likely range shown alongside each count
  • Who got named instead, and what the engines read
  • Three listing changes suggested each Monday
  • One weekly card delivered by email

Who It Is For

App makers and founders who want to know whether AI assistants recommend their app, and what to change in the store listing to improve it.

Key Use Cases

Checking whether AI assistants name your app at all; comparing how each engine treats your app versus apps that get named instead; deciding which listing changes to try next; tracking the count weekly.

Strengths and Limitations

Strengths

It measures the installable app listing rather than a website domain, and it keeps four engine counts separate instead of collapsing them into one score.

Limitations

It is in beta/waitlist at capture (opening November 5, 2026), and because AI answers are probabilistic the result is a count with a likely range, not a fixed rank or guarantee.
