What It Does
Kivvie replaces the open YouTube feed with a list a parent makes. You create a profile per child and approve public YouTube channels — and individual playlist videos if you want — and those approvals become the whole thing the child can browse. The standard YouTube home, the Shorts feed, comments and open-ended search are left out rather than filtered after the fact.
The argument on the site is about defaults: on regular YouTube new channels arrive through recommendations, Shorts form their own endless feed, and every block happens only after something has already appeared, so the child's attention is what trains the algorithm. Kivvie inverts that — the parent's choices are the starting state, each child gets a separate list, and changes sync from the dashboard to the app.
Parents keep a dashboard for profiles and approvals, and the child watches in the Kivvie app on iOS and Android. It is free for one child and five channels with no card required, with monthly, yearly and lifetime plans to unlock more profiles and channels, plus parent guides, comparisons against YouTube Kids, Family Link and Screen Time, and a support page.

Strengths and Limitations
Strengths
Whitelisting before playback rather than moderating after it, and per-child lists so siblings do not share one feed.
Limitations
Only content on public YouTube channels can be approved, and the free tier is capped at one child and five channels.
