Skerrick
A screen-time app that lets you into Instagram, TikTok or YouTube, then calls time three minutes in, when stopping is actually possible.

What It Does
Skerrick starts from a specific complaint about Screen Time and Digital Wellbeing: both stop you at the door, at the moment you have the least reason to stop and the most reason to tap through. Its alternative is to let you in, start a three-minute ration, and call time mid-scroll. On Android the cut-off lands over the app; on iPhone a notification tells you, and the app opens on the cut-off until the ration refills 30 minutes after you leave.
The ration is per visit and counts whenever the app is in front, so Reels, Stories and direct messages spend the same minutes. There is no warning and no five-minute grace. Asking for sixty more seconds is possible after a wait, and the wait grows each time that day, so pushing through gets slower rather than easier. The whole app is rationed rather than one feed, because the site's argument is that a Reels-only block just moves the problem to Stories and DMs.
One feed is free forever, with the full mechanic and no watered-down cut-off — the free tier is the product if one app is the problem. Skerrick Pro adds every app you want to ration, Lights Out (a bedtime schedule that turns the phone into a clock) and the home-screen widget, at £4.99 a month or £29.99 a year with a 14-day trial on the yearly plan. It is on Google Play now; the iPhone app is not released yet.

Privacy and Data Handling
The site publishes a privacy policy, terms and a delete-your-account page, and states that the ration runs on the device with optional backup. Marketing copy states no account, email or login is needed to use the free tier.
Strengths and Limitations
Strengths
Moving the interruption to the middle of a session is a real behavioral difference from a launch-time gate, and giving away the full mechanic for one app avoids the usual crippled free tier.
Limitations
It is Android-only for now, rations the whole app rather than Reels alone, and the £4.99 monthly price has no free trial.
Common Questions
What exactly does Skerrick block?
The whole app you choose, not a single feed. You get three minutes per visit and then the cut-off, so Reels, Stories and DMs all spend the same ration.
Is the free tier a trial?
No. One app is free forever with the full mechanic, including the cut-off and the escalating wait; Pro adds more apps, Lights Out and the widget.
When is the iPhone version available?
Not yet. Skerrick is on Google Play now, and the site collects an email address to announce the App Store release once.
