This week's five split neatly: two move a fiddly job to a better screen, two turn what you already have into something publishable, and one is just a good daily puzzle.
A daily puzzle with a real origin story
Paperclip is a daily trading puzzle. You start with a red paperclip and a market of traders, each willing to make one swap once, and try to reach the day's prize in the fewest trades while avoiding the dead ends. It is a nod to Kyle MacDonald, who in 2005 and 2006 traded a single red paperclip through 14 swaps up to a house — and his real sequence is playable any time as "Kyle's market". The daily puzzle, three weekly bonus markets and Kyle's market are free with no account, no ads and no time limit; a one-time $1.99 unlock adds Practice and Expert markets, the archive and a cross-device profile.
The Home Screen, arranged on a bigger screen
Thumbwise moves iPhone Home Screen organization onto the Mac: drag apps, folders and widgets in a Mac window, then apply that exact layout to the iPhone over a USB cable. An "App Bank" holds apps aside mid-arrangement so nothing shuffles, apps kept in the App Library stay off the Home Screen, and an optional data-informed mode estimates your swipes over the last 30 days to suggest a lower-friction layout. It needs an Apple-silicon Mac on macOS 15 or later and an iPhone on iOS 27; the download is free and a one-time $14.99 unlock enables Apply.
A promo video from the site you already have
Demo Editor starts from a product URL. The "Director" captures your real pages, writes a story and cuts it with voice-over, music and sound in about 20 minutes — using your actual screens, not AI-drawn imagery. It produces four lengths mapped to placements: a teaser (up to 30s) for a waitlist, a hook (up to 40s) for X/TikTok/Reels and ads, a pitch (up to 45s) for Product Hunt and a homepage, and a demo (up to 60s) for a feature walkthrough. You can add a screen recording to show the app behind a login. The first video is free; after that it is $49 for four.
From website to native app, without code
AppNatively turns an existing site or store into native iOS and Android apps. It connects WooCommerce, Shopify, the Directory/Classified and popular form plugins, Google Drive and Firebase, or a custom REST API, and you design visually or with an AI assistant through its MCP server. Over-the-air updates, unlimited push notifications, unlimited builds and publishing to the App Store and Google Play are included. Basic is $6 a month with a 7-day free trial.
Let the launch write itself from the repo
Ship Kit is a Claude Code plugin that reads your repository and checks your live site, then writes the launch: a pre-flight check with the file and line to fix, a landing page in your product's own brand, launch posts in your voice, and a dated run sheet. It never posts for you — you review and send. It was run on a real launch (Afterword, a Mac app) during its launch week, and its output is shown on the site; the plugin installs free from the Claude Code plugin marketplace, with a paid founding copy at $9.
