What It Does

Thumbwise moves iPhone Home Screen organization onto the Mac. You arrange apps, folders and widgets in a Mac window, then apply that exact layout to your iPhone over a USB cable. An "App Bank" holds apps aside mid-rearrange so the layout does not shuffle, and apps kept in the App Library stay off the Home Screen. There is an optional data-informed optimization: it uses your available app-usage data to estimate swipes between pages over the last 30 days and proposes a layout that reduces them, and it can be driven by an AI assistant through MCP. It requires an Apple-silicon Mac (macOS 15+) and an iPhone on iOS 27; on iPhone Duo it can plan a layout but cannot apply it yet. The download is free and a one-time $14.99 unlock enables Apply.

Strengths and Limitations

Strengths

It turns a fiddly phone-only task into a Mac drag-and-drop job, and it keeps layout data local with no account required.

Limitations

It needs very recent OS versions (macOS 15 and iOS 27) and a USB cable, Apply is behind a one-time $14.99 unlock, and iPhone Duo hardware can only plan layouts for now.
